Making sense of cloud services for a small business

Strip away the jargon and a small business cloud setup has three layers. Google Workspace wins on simplicity. If your team already thinks in Gmail, works mostly in a browser, collaborates in real time more than it emails attachments, and includes a mix of Macs, Chromebooks, and phones, Workspace has fewer moving parts to misconfigure. The cloud mistakes we see most often

After enough tenant reviews, the same problems show up in almost every unmanaged small business account:

• Paying for licenses nobody uses. Employees leave, licenses stay. A 25-person company paying for 31 seats wastes $700–$1,500 a year without noticing, because the charge hits a card on file.

Because Microsoft’s own service agreement recommends third-party backup of your data. Their infrastructure is reliable; your data is still exposed to deletion, ransomware, and account compromise, and after the retention window nothing is recoverable. Independent backup closes that gap for a few dollars per user per month.

Can you help us switch from one suite to the other?
